What’s the difference? I’ve used toners but never essence like you had in your pdf sheet! Is one better than the other? Ty! Also any recs for hormonal breakouts would be highly appreciated
Yes, another with this question. Toner was on your (Jamie’s) old pdf that I still reference regularly. But it is not on here anywhere. Do I still use it? When? How often? Tell me the things!
First, THANK YOU for making skin care so much more accessible. Between this and your episodes on 10 Things to Tell You, it has transformed my skin care which was practically non existent before. I’m not at 10 steps, but I do have a few staples now and I’m now not a day without SPF being applied multiple times. Also, pro tip is that you can use FSA money to buy sunscreens like Elta MD (my fave) and all the other good ones!
One question I had is, how long do you commit to trying a new product before knowing that one is great and works well for you or not?
I struggle most with redness and rosacea and have had to cut back on the AHAs and retinol, which we’re helping other issues. Any specific favorites for rosacea or very gentle acids or retinol?
Can I do all of the 2-3x/week things on the same days or do they need to be spread out? And do most serums generally need to be used every day or a couple times a week or is it just different depending on what it is?
To build on the serums question: should any be used only am or pm? I typically use vitamin c in the am and retinol in the pm but am not sure I’m maximizing my timing and combinations. Are there some that should be used both am and pm and some that should be used only one or the other?
I love the new graphic, thank you so much for offering this!
Skin care has been the best investment. My dermatologist is pleased. I am pleased and get so many compliments. People think I’m way younger when I tell them I’m 46. My teenage son hates it when I lecture him about taking care of his skin. My husband is always asking me what he can do for his skin and his happy with my recommendations. Thanks to Jamie and Akin Care by Sydney (go check her out), we are all looking like we are thirty, flirty and thriving!
This was a question I was gonna ask too — my skin breaks out temporarily with most any change to my skincare routine. I usually give it a couple days, then it’s fine, but I know we’re all different. 🤪
Same. Mine didn’t show up either. If you figure it out will you send it. I got the email “Skincare Routines for Every Energy Level” and the link to the store but no pdf.
Are you still a Curology subscriber? I started with them a few years ago (based on your rec!) and still use, even working my way up to retinol! But I haven’t seen you mention them lately and wondered if you’ve gone beyond them or have other recommendations instead? These emails are already GOLD(en) thank you so much!
I used Curology for several years because Jamie recommended it. But I heard her say somewhere in the past year that she uses prescription retinol from her actual in person dermatologist. So I had a cancer screening with mine and asked her about it. The prescription retinol ended up being a stronger formula and cheaper than the Curology!
That’s so helpful! I liked curology as a starting point but not sure it’s the one I want to stick with. Especially if there’s better for cheaper. 😁 thank you! Loving this newsletter for this exact reason. 💖
My secret shame is the lack of sunscreen unless I am pooling or beaching. I vow to be better.
Am also so thankful — you’ve mentioned before you don’t let skin care dry in between steps. That’s how I do it too, mostly bc of the sleepiness, but thank you for freeing me from worrying whether or not I am losing out on skin gainZ.
Essence vs. toner

My question too!😊
Me too!
I am wondering about this too. I think I had an essence in a travel size that I used until it ran out and now use a toner at that essence step.
This was also my number one question. Jamie B Golden, where are youuuuuu?
Yes, another with this question. Toner was on your (Jamie’s) old pdf that I still reference regularly. But it is not on here anywhere. Do I still use it? When? How often? Tell me the things!
Please pretty please is there a red light mask out there for us tight budget girls? Dr. Dennis Gross is a pipe dream for me…

Happy to have Jamie’s skincare info back in my life, but I really, really, miss the videos (empties, etc)
Meeee too I loved the videos 🥰

Wait—I only need to wash my face with water in the AM?!
I too am like only water ????

Talking’bout my generation…ADULT Highlights is BRILLIANT! Thank you.
Anyone else a Supergoop sunscreen user?
I never got my PDF and I think I subscribed twice. 😂 also, when you travel, do you take everything with you? How does that work?
Mine went to spam.
What’s the email address? I never got my off and I’ve searched all my email folders (I think :) )
When you're 35 and feel like any new skin care item you try is causing acne breakouts, how long do you test it out for before giving up?
This was a question I was gonna ask too — my skin breaks out temporarily with most any change to my skincare routine. I usually give it a couple days, then it’s fine, but I know we’re all different. 🤪
I didn't; get the PDF for reason....can you resend it to me or can someone forward it to me please and thank you!!!!
I subscribed but didn't get the skincare PDF. Is there another way to get it?
Same. Mine didn’t show up either. If you figure it out will you send it. I got the email “Skincare Routines for Every Energy Level” and the link to the store but no pdf.
